Another worm

Along w/corn and soybeans, Iowa also grows worms! I've never seen before in my life such BIG monster worms. Travis showed me this whopper he found. Then we walked down to the chicken pen, and he tossed it to the chickens, who acted as if the worm was a delicious treat and actually fought over it! This winning chicken ended up w/the prize and swallowed it whole...sorry if it's near mealtime for anyone reading this. :)

I use to find these type of worn also when I was a kid in Bakersfield. They would eat tomato plants; they are actually called tomato hornworms. They turn into big moths

Yes, Kevin, my Kevin informed me that I had seen these before on our tomato and potato plants one year before he doused them w/this powder stuff to kill the pesky things. And they are a major pest when they turn into moths also.

Ahhh, Meradeth and I just watched a short movie about a worm called "wormie" and he was always asking God why he had to be so normal. God always told him to be patient, He wasn't finished with him yet. When wormie was finally satisfied with his present state, he fell asleep and then turned into a beautiful butterfly. I guess they left out the part about being doused with poisen powder and dying a horrible death!

However, Kristin, these worms metamorphosize into drab moths...not beautiful butterflies! :)

That worm is so green and crazy looking, that it doesn't even look real! Looks like something you'd see in a cartoon or somethin.
