Foxe's Book of Martyrs

Eric and I have just started reading this book. We were curious to see if any of you all have read it and if so, what your thoughts are about it.

I have read a little of it many years ago and couldn't take anymore. I think I will try to read it again because it brings to reality how wicked the devil is.

Yes, I've read some of the book also. It reminds me of that movie we watch when we were kids...I believe it was called "Flame in the Wind".

Katie, my biggest fear is being tortured or watching my family being tutored. I started having nightmares about this when I was in PNG and I regularly have nightmares about it now. I read a little in this book when I was at school over the summer. I had a lot of time at the circulation desk doing nothing. I couldn't take very much of it. So now, to read it, I think would only give me more nightmares.
However, I think the book in and of itself is amazing and tells of so many lives that have been lived for His glory. I also think that is shows a great example of what Catholicism really is.
