Congratulations! I'm sure you both kept your audience on the edge of their seats with your interesting speeches. I notice how pretty your nails are, Allyson. The color matches your pretty pink top. And you look so handsome, Kaleb.

The last comment was from grandmother. I didn't notice that granddaddy was the one signed in.

I just knew both of you would win after watching your speeches the other night. They were so interesting and well written! I bet you both will win again next month.

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe you guys!! It is going to be so much fun when we can come to all your events and cheer you on. I am not surprised at all that you both won first place. You guys are very diligent and hard working and it pays off.

I wrote the wrong date for the county competitions; it's this month on the 23rd.

Before the speeches, the parents are given an index cards for each speaker. So, during their speech you write down what you think they did well on, and one comment about something you think they could work on. Then after the speeches, the cards are gathered up and categorized according to each kid and given to them.
On one of Kaleb's cards, a parent had written for a "con"..."just too adorable!" :)
