Caught in a storm

Last week we went to Cove Lake in Lafollette, TN to ride the bike trails. It was a perfect sunny day...BUT THEN, all of a sudden this terrible thunderstorm and a torrent of rain quickly moved in. Like many others, we ran for the nearest sheltered picnic area. It was a little unnerving. I have an understanding now of what it might have been like for the people who were in the floods in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

That is really coming down. I saw on the news today a picture from a downpour in France that caused a river of water going at a rate of 35mph down a road sweeping away cars. Very scary.

So did the weather that day call for rain or was this a complete surprise. This makes me very worried about you guys now. Please dont go out if it calls for rain! Kevin kept saying...thats crazy...thats crazy..Poor central coast California boy has never seen something like this before.

We have been having sudden storms like this for a couple of weeks now...so, the forecast is always a slight chance of rain.
Because of so many hills and mountains very close, there's not a real danger of being caught in a flood...although we could have been struck by lightning.

I think it's so cute how Kaleb is nervous and Allyson thinks it's neat! :) Where's Travis?

He is sitting on my lap...looking around wide-eyed...and not at all liking the storm. :)
