Good ol' Times

How many times do you think we Bentley's and Merkesdal's have eaten here? Guesses, anyone?
I want you guys to tell me at least one memory you have about our times in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg w/Bestefar and Mormor. (for nonNorwegian blog readers: Bestefar means Grandpa and Mormor means Grandmother in Norwegian)

Something you would find only in the South...

I can't remember any specific memory, but what popped in my mind as soon as I saw this picture is the candy store nearby and how Besetefar would stand there with us forever watching the taffy machines pull the taffy batter all around. Then he'd take us in and let us buy pretty much whatever we wanted to. Then Mormor would tell us how much we would need to brush our teeth unless we wanted our teeth to rot! Then Bestefar would laugh and say that we could just have fake teeth like he did. HA HA HA!!!

I remember sliding down water slides...then going to eat at the Pancake Pantry...watching the taffy machines through the windows...and then shopping at a Scandinavian jewelry store just around the corner.

I remember driving Bestefar's car to Gatlinburg one time with his NY tag. When we go back to the car from an afternoon of shopping someone had take their finger and wrote on the back, Yankee Go Home. We got a laugh from that. Bestefar loved to go to the pancake house.
