The Great Outdoors

(a big hollow log in our campfire)

Last Friday night we went camping out by Papa and Grandma's creek in their timber. It was so quiet and peaceful. When we first got there, Kaleb caught some fish while Papa was setting up camp.

Our campsite...complete w/camper, picnic table, grill, Coleman stove, tiki torches, drinks/food, and much more! :)

Around midnight, after the kids went to bed...Papa, Kevin, and I sat around the fire and listened to the eerie howls of a pack of coyotes over the hill. There was a full moon out...as you can see from the picture!
It's morning! Kevin walks up to the house w/the boys to visit the bathroom.
Kaleb chopping wood for the campfire...
Kevin fried some eggs...Papa made us toast...Travis really enjoyed his breakfast!
Now, it's time to play! Allyson is floating away on her "raft".
My two cute boys are using their big imaginations...
Then Grandma came down to the timber...and the kids had a blast building boats w/her and sailing them down the creek.

There is absolutely nothing like country living. That looks like so much fun Candace. And to have that right in your back yard. What a pretty place.

Only wish we could go more. I told Kevin that living around all these old people makes me want to be old and retired and just go rving around the country.

This looks like a blast! I would never want to leave if I lived in a place like that!! That's so nice to be able to do that with the kids. I've never been camping, except that one time Daddy let us sleep in the tent in the yard of the red house. But that sure was fun though!!
