Birds

I noticed that kristin said we don't have any other birds than seagulls and hawks, well I know we do. We have pelicans and sand pipers. I guess I will have to get a bird feeder for the back yard to get the birds to come around more:-)

Yes, since we've started throwing out bird seed, I'm hoping we will attract other birds beside our usual sparrows and snowbirds. I'm sure Mera would enjoy watching the birds come eat at the feeder! :)

Would love to see what other birds you can attract down there.I was given an Iowa birdbook for my birtday then for Christmas was given a North America book. As you can tell by my blog I LOVE birds. I am trying to get some new visitors. In the summer I get alot more variety, but it is a GREAT hobby. I just love watching them.... Good luck ladies !!!

I bet if you started looking for birds,Kristin, you would be surprised at the large variety you have. That would be a wonderful hobby for Meradeth to begin with. We have many interesting birds here. We can see eagles right outside our window on a tree across the street. Daddy saw a rough legged hawk in the marsh yesterday. It was eating a fish. It has a wingspan of 52" and is 24" tall. Great picture,Kevin.
