I loved the pictures, Mama. I just wish there were more of them. Daddy, what were you trying to do on the bridge? It looks like you were trying to spit. The B&Bs looked amazing!!! I wish Kevin W./Candace could have been with you because then we would have seen your trip moment by moment. Do you have any pictures of Lexington?
I was wanting more picture also, Kristin...and I also asked Mama, what Daddy was doing on the bridge, hahaha! How about any coverage of the Appomattox visit? Maybe someday I will get to stay in a B&B...
When we left Lexington I couldn't believe that we didn't take a picture of the house that Lee lived in after the war and he died in the front bedroom and right next door was the house that Stonewall Jackson got married in. They were private homes so you couldn't go in them but you could walk right in front of them. They are on the Washington and Lee University campus. We stopped at an ice cream shop almost right across the street. We also didn't take any pictures at Appomattox. I guess because we have been there 3 times so we didn't think of it. They have a bookstore that we always like to go to. I got two books that I haven't read that are great. We also bought two more copies of Christ in the Camp. I am reading one of the new books now. It was written by a man from Alabama. It is so different from others that I have read because he talks about how he felt about things. He was in the war all 4 years. I know that we definitely lack in taking enough pictures. But we are getting better and now we have such a wonderful camera. I am going to work on trying to email you girls the videos.
I also had to ask Mama what Daddy was doing on the bridge. Haha!! I love looking at pictures of you two because you always look so sweet and happy. Sure looks like you had a lot of fun. I love all the bed and breakfasts you stayed at. I'm thinking Daddy should become a professional vacation planner.
